Position Overview
The Communications Associate will support Athena Infonomics’ external and internal communications by developing clear, well-structured, and audience-appropriate content. The role involves writing, editing, and coordinating content across digital platforms and knowledge products, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, clarity, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities
• Draft and edit content for websites, newsletters, social media, presentations, and reports.
• Support day-to-day management of Athena’s digital communication channels, including social media content management, scheduling and basic performance tracking.
• Translate technical research, evaluation findings, and project outputs into clear, accessible communication materials.
• Assist in developing project profiles, case studies, short briefs, and internal updates.
• Work closely with design colleagues to ensure content and visuals align effectively.
• Assist with maintaining content calendars and coordinating reviews with internal teams.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience in communications, content development, or knowledge management.
• Strong command over Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel extensively for content drafting, formatting, and coordination. 
• Working knowledge of Canva for layout and visual enhancement.
• An understanding of generally accepted social media performance indicators and methods for increasing engagement among specific audiences and geographies.
• Broad knowledge of fundamental principles, terminology, and methodology of marketing writing, technical editing, and document organization.
• Ability to understand technical material and communicate it to non-technical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Self-learning, able to learn new tools quickly and work in a fast-evolving environment.
• Comfortable working with feedback and making iterative improvements.
